Installation of Clamav-milter

Step (1)

You need to install clamav and clamd first before install clamav-milter go to our page of clamav,clamd installation

(wget) download the latest clamav-milter :

http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/clamav/

Step (2)

[root@alanstudio]# rpm -Uvh clamav-milter*

Install this four package by RPM : clamav-milter

Step (3)

[root@alanstudio]# vi /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

# Input mail filters
O InputMailFilters=clamav-milter

##### MAIL FILTER DEFINITIONS #####
Xclamav-milter, S=local:/var/clamav/clmilter.socket,F=, T=S:4m;R:4m

Configure sendmail to use clamav-filter

Step (4)

[root@alanstudio]# chkconfig clamav-milter on
[root@alanstudio]# /etc/init.d/sendmail restart
[root@alanstudio]# /etc/init.d/clamav-milter start

Restart the service of sendmail and start service of clamav-milter

Step (5)

Try use any EICARS test virus as attachment to test you clamav-milter + Sendmail system.
You can check mail log to analysis the status of clamav-milter

[root@alanstudio]# tail -f /var/log/maillog
