Rootkit Hunter Installation

Step 1

Download the latest tar file from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/rkhunter/

[root@local~]# tar -zxvf rkhunter-1.3.4.tar.gz
[root@local~]# cd rkhunter-1.3.4/
[root@local~]# ./installer.sh --layout default --install

Install the program.

Step 2

[root@local~]# /usr/local/bin/rkhunter --checkall
/usr/local/bin/rkhunter --checkall --skip-keypress

To start rootkit scan the system.
Second command is help to skip press "Enter" key.

[root@local~]# /usr/local/bin/rkhunter --update

This is the command to update of rootkit. P.S. You can set rootkit run as cron job schedule.
